Hopper was leaning against the barrier that separates the interior social area from the actual rink. It wasn’t that he had never learned to skate — he learned when he was a kid — but he hadn’t tried in years. Moreover he’d assisted ambulance crews in Hawkins on some of the more severe accidents that occurred at their roller rink and he wasn’t eager to becoming an accident himself.
