Alec glances over to Wren again like he's seeing them for the first time, even though he's the one who started the conversation. He didn't expect to be ignored, exactly, but not having his stealth rune active in public, mundane places still feels extremely weird for him. At first glance, they just look so normal.
Which is neither here nor there (nor true, obviously), so he opens his mouth to rattle off his list of constantly expanding tastes courtesy of his favorite warlock who loves to show off and whisk him away to fabulous restaurants halfway across the globe, but then logic catches up with him and he casts another dubious look at all the names around them. They are definitely still in Oregon, in the 80's, and he should be a little more realistic.
"Pancakes?" That seems like it would be available locally and difficult to mess up. He'd go for Curry, but after visiting Mumbai's institute on and off for a chunk of his life he does not want to know what Oregon's version of Curry would taste like. "I'd settle for anything that's not too greasy." So they can probably see the issue he's having, here.
